Are You Flourishing?

When you think of your faith walk, what comes to mind? Are you growing in wisdom, love, and compassion? Does your soul yearn for righteousness and even eternity? Do you heed the voice of God and obey? Are you flourishing?

How Is Your Soil?

Christ is the greatest teacher of all time. However, that shouldn’t come as a surprise since He is, in fact, God. Consequently, being the great teacher that He is, in the Parable of the Sower, Jesus instructs us on the importance of being properly rooted. Unlike the one who lacks understanding, or is easily distressed, or is controlled by deceit, the one whose soil is good produces much fruit. So, how is the soil of your heart? Are you rooted in the Word or the world?

When we submit to the mandates and the will of the Lord, we thrive in heavenly wisdom, thought, and work because our character is established in the ways of Christ. When we spend time in His presence, we begin to walk like Him, talk like Him, and look like Him. His light shines from within when we meditate on His precepts and delight in His ways. Surrender, obedience, and devotion water the seeds of His Word in our hearts, returning a bountiful harvest.

The First Command

God’s very first command given to humanity was to be fruitful. However, fruitfulness isn’t only about quantity, but also the quality of the transformation. Are we bearing fruit in our homes, on our jobs, in our communities, and within? Are we truly living as the new creations we claim to be, and is bountifulness evident?

The fruit we produce in our lives brings glory to Him. Therefore, as followers of Christ, it is our duty to cultivate a life of consistent growth and renewal. Even in difficulty, we thrive, understanding that our assurance is firm in the Father and His Kingdom. True growth is rooted in the root of life, the Creator Himself. Consequently, when we align with His perfect purpose, we flourish in Him, for Him.

With Love,

Tamara

Scripture To Meditate On

“The righteous thrive like a palm tree and grow like a cedar tree in Lebanon.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭92‬:‭12‬

“How happy is the one who does not walk in the advice of the wicked or stand in the pathway with sinners or sit in the company of mockers! Instead, his delight is in the Lord’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. He is like a tree planted beside flowing streams that bears its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭3‬

“Anyone trusting in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like foliage.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬

“So, then, neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭7‬

“But the one sown on the good ground — this is one who hears and understands the word, who does produce fruit and yields: some a hundred, some sixty, some thirty times what was sown.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭23‬
