Stillness. That is the word that comes to mind when I think about the last few days of December. Christmas has been celebrated, and we wait in expectation for the New Year. As reflections form, visions are written down in elaborate fashion, and goals are set. However, one thing is sure: we may be entering a New Year, but we still serve the same God.

He Remains The Same
Year after year, we take on new challenges: mindset challenges, health challenges, and even financial challenges. Because we have one goal in mind: to become the best version of ourselves. We strive for perfection, hoping to achieve it one day. And yet, year after year, we find ourselves falling short of our vision. Instead, we return to our whiteboards with a new plan and fresh determination. We are seeking new opportunities, new disciplines, a new life. Though the full transformation we are so desperate for is not found in our perception of a perfect body, a dream home, a career, or an impressive bank account. There will always be more to desire, and more to strive for. So, we enter each New Year with the mindset of “new year, new me.”
But there is only one who doesn’t strive year after year to be more powerful, more righteous, more loving, more forgiving, or more holy. God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He doesn’t need a vision board because He is the vision. The perfection we crave is HIM. Therefore, we can take comfort in Him, put our trust in Him, and have faith in Him because He doesn’t change. He is the one constant we have in life. So, as you make plans for the new year, take heed to plan your steps with the Lord because He is the one who knows all and sees all. His words are true, His promises are fulfilled, and His faithfulness is steadfast.
With Love,
Tamara
Scripture To Meditate On
‘Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. ‘
‘God is not a man, that he might lie, or a son of man, that he might change his mind. Does he speak and not act, or promise and not fulfill? ‘
‘Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. ‘
