A Mature Knowledge Of The Truth
Peter, a servant and apostle of Christ, writes to fellow Christians, encouraging them to hold fast to Jesus’ knowledge. Additionally, he warns of false teachers and harmful influences while reminding them that they share in the divine nature as believers and followers and can expect great and precious promises. Therefore, they should supplement their faith with goodness, knowledge, self-control, endurance, godliness, brotherly affection, and love. For these qualities, as Christians, keep us effective and fruitful.
The Christian Life
The Christian life is characterized by a confident belief in Christ and an active faith. Likewise, our faith is built on the foundation of Jesus and His Word. Thus, the very real anxieties of the day are put to rest through the knowledge of God, granting us everything we need for salvation and living. Hence, it is not naive to believe that God is all we need because it is through the Creator that we seek and find every created thing we may want or need. It is by faith that we are saved and by faith that we live. Consequently, the philosophy of men will never measure up to the divine power of God.
All-Powerful God
We are children of the all-powerful, all-knowing God. He created the universe with a Word and remains holy and sovereign over all. Thus, as Christians, we should live our lives devoted to God, abounding in the fruit of the Spirit, and putting our full trust in Him, for He is the source and reason for all. In Him we find rest, comfort, joy, love, justice, righteousness, peace, wisdom, and eternity. The answers to life’s biggest questions are found in the act of reflecting Christ. So yes, Jesus really is all we need.
With Love,
Tamara
Scripture To Meditate On
‘His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. By these he has given us very great and precious promises, so that through them you may share in the divine nature, escaping the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire. ‘
‘For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with goodness, goodness with knowledge, knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with godliness, godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being useless or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ‘
‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; ‘
