The New Year always brings a fresh atmosphere and perspective. Anticipation and excitement are high as we envision what the year will bring. We set goals and vow to keep them. Sometimes, we’re successful, and other times, we aren’t. But this year, as we embark on a new journey, I want us to remember the new creation we are in Christ. When we surrender our lives to the Lord, He washes us clean, and we become made new. Yes, you are a new creation.
Freedom In Christ
We have freedom in Christ. However, shame tries its best to keep us in an emotional prison of regret. Past mistakes are replayed in our minds like a movie. The picture is so clear and the pain so tangible. We fall to our knees time after time telling God sorry for the luggage of sin we used to carry because we can’t seem to believe that God would really forgive us. But He does, and He did.
There is freedom in God. Jesus paid it all. We do not need to be weighed down by our past. Instead, we can rest in the grace, love, and victory that God provides. So, as you make your way through 2025, remember that you are a new creation in Christ, forgiven, redeemed, and loved.
Questions To Ponder
- What does it mean to you to be a new creation in Christ and how can your life reflect that?
- Since giving your life to Christ, have you lived as a new Creation?
Scripture To Meditate On
‘Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come! ‘
With Love,
Tamara
