What Should Really Be On Your God Goals Vision Board

In a previous post, I mentioned how I’m doing my vision board a little differently this year. I love setting intentions and goals. As a highly passionate and ambitious person, it’s important to me. However, it is also important that I am in God’s will. I do not want to dismiss our goals for career, finances, health, and even travel. I do want to emphasize that we must seek God’s Kingdom first. From that posture, our desires flow. So, what should really be on your God Goals Vision Board?

Your God Goals

Your God Goals are goals, desires, or intentions that grow from a place of intimacy with God. The more we seek God and His will, the more we are transformed into the image of Christ. Therefore, we begin to desire what God wants for us instead of only desiring what we wish God to do for us. This takes humility and surrender. We may be unsure of what God’s will for our life is. And that’s okay. Creating your vision board can be an act of surrender. Put it on your board with a prayer that God will either confirm or exchange it. Remember, God gives us the desires of our hearts. That doesn’t mean He gives us whatever we want. Instead, He transforms our hearts and minds to be in alignment with Him. Sometimes, it can be difficult for us to discern the desires that God gives us because we haven’t laid down the desires that aren’t from Him.

What To Put On Your Vision Board This Year

We are all called to different places and people. God has given us unique talents and strengths to carry out the plans and purposes for our lives. My assignment may not look like yours. But we can all agree that our unified purpose is to reflect God and do His will. With that, there are some key things that should always be on our vision boards year after year.

Presence

We should desire to spend more time in God’s presence, growing closer to Him and learning more about His nature.

‘You reveal the path of life to me; in your presence is abundant joy; at your right hand are eternal pleasures. ‘

Psalms 16:11

Spiritual Fruit

We are to live by the Spirit. When we submit to the Spirit, we deny our flesh and produce Holy Fruit.

‘But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ‘ ‘gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things. ‘

Galatians 5:22-23

Spiritual Discipline

We don’t only live for this present life but for the promise of eternity with God.

‘For the training of the body has limited benefit, but godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. ‘

1 Timothy 4:8

Endurance

We are promised suffering in this life. We don’t like it but it produces endurance and endurance produces a stronger faith.

‘endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope. ‘

Romans 5:4

‘Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen. ‘

Greater Faith

Our faith draws us closer to God. We must first believe that He exists before we can trust Him or His plans. That trust leads to our surrender and of course our salvation.

‘When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. He said to those who were following him, “I tell you the truth, this is the greatest faith I have found, even in Israel. ‘

Matthew 8:10

Holiness

We are not God. You and I will never live up to His majesty or supremacy. We are, however; called to be His light in the world. This would be impossible without Him. But the Holy Spirit empowers us to live holy. This doesn’t mean that we won’t struggle in our humanity. It does mean that we must continually seek God.

‘for it is written, Be holy, because I am holy. , ‘

1 Peter 1:16

Your God Goals Year

This list is in no way exhaustive. It is I believe a great foundation to lay. As believers, our main goal should always be to look more and more like Christ. Again, I don’t think it is necessary to give up all of our ambition. But that ambition should be surrendered to the will of God. When we seek first the Kingdom, the desires that we have whether they be for a career, family, or finances, flow from time spent with God. What we desire in these different areas is heavily influenced by our faith in Him. I do believe that God gives us the freedom to dream. But even our dreams should be the fruit of a relationship with Him.

With Love,

Tamara
