What Is A Winter Arc?
The winter arc is a time period of intentional personal improvement and well-being that takes place during the winter months. During this time, participants focus on goal setting and creating habits that prioritize health.
What I like about it is that it typically begins in late fall (October) and carries into January. It gets you out of the mindset of “waiting until the New Year” to start making positive changes. The busyness of the holidays causes many people to fall into the trap of reverting to old habits and accepting the consequences because there are only “three months left.” We don’t have to wait until January 1 to begin implementing changes that are beneficial for our mind, body, and spirit.
What Are Some Winter Arc Examples?
Your winter arc can be anything you need it to be. Unlike other wellness trends, it doesn’t hold to a hardcore set of rules you must follow. Some common examples include:
- Starting A New Fitness Regimen
- Committing To Eating Healthier
- Decreasing Screen Time
- Journaling Daily and
- Prioritizing Sleep
What Are Some Christian Winter Arc Examples?
All of the examples mentioned above are great goals to set. Though sometimes ignored in Christian settings, living a healthy life is a standard we should all hold to. We are to be good stewards of our health and our overall lives. Some other habits or routines you may want to implement during this time to strengthen your faith and spiritual discipline are:
- Reading One Chapter Or Book Of The Bible Daily
- Having A Morning And Evening Devotion Time
- Praying For One Hour A Day or
- Memorizing One Verse A Day Or Week
The Heart Of The Matter
Like everything, I believe it is the heart that matters the most. Your winter arc shouldn’t be about participating in a new trend just because. Rather, it should be about cultivating wellness in your mind, body, and spirit. Every day is a gift and a fresh opportunity to do better than the day before. So don’t wait for the confetti to fall before committing to positive change. You can start today.
With Love,
Tamara
