I longed for a deeper relationship with God. I wanted to know Him and His Word intimately. “How could I experience Him more?” I often wondered to myself. I desired to walk with Him like Paul and be seen by Him like Hagar. I wanted my hunger to grow. However, it wasn’t until I realized I needed to taste and see God for myself that my appetite transformed.

Hunger And Thirst
I am deeply fascinated by the concept of hungering and thirsting for God and His righteousness. Any foodie can tell you the deep love and joy experienced when they finally take a bite of what they have long craved. Their taste buds light up as their emotional well overflows, igniting all the senses. Therefore, how much more will our yearning for a holy God be fulfilled when we cultivate a foundation of faith? Or, fueled by our desire to dwell with Him, how much will we experience spiritual satisfaction and growth? For Jesus says, those who hunger and thirst will be filled and thus are blessed. But first we must taste, and then we will see just how good, holy, patient, loving, marvelous, magnificent, comforting, righteous, all-knowing, and all-powerful our God is!
His presence fulfills and sustains like no other. His Word is our food and our salvation. Hence, our hunger and thirst are eternally quenched when we rest in Him. Because physical hunger is temporary, but spiritual hunger is eternal. So we continually seek and draw near through prayer, proclamation, and the reading of His Word. We do not neglect the gathering or stray from His truth. No, we pick from His garden and eat at His table. Continually, tasting and seeing that the Lord is good.
With Love,
Tamara
‘Taste and see that the Lord is good. How happy is the person who takes refuge in him! ‘
‘ Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. ‘
‘But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again. In fact, the water I will give him will become a well, of water springing up in him for eternal life.” ‘
