Heaven Came Down

Heaven Came Down Featured Image

The miraculous had happened. Born of a virgin, a baby came forth and was laid in a manger, for there was no room in the inn. The sky opened, and an angel of the Lord appeared before the most fortunate shepherds who were watching over their flock. He declared the good news of Christ’s birth as the glory of God shone around them. Heaven came down.

The Announcement Of The Christ

It seemed like an ordinary night for the shepherds, I’m sure. However, this night was anything but ordinary. In an instant, the heavens opened, and an angel stood before them. Little did they know, the Savior of the world had just been born. Easing their fears at such an unexpected and supernatural sight, the angel announces the birth of Christ, the gift the world had been waiting for. Just then, a multitude of heavenly hosts appeared in celebration. They praised God, saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to people he favors!” (Luke 2:14). What a sight to behold! What a gift to be granted!

Heaven Walked With Creation

Heaven came down and walked with creation. He healed the blind and caused the lame to walk. Jesus, moved with compassion, gave new life to the sinner. In doing so, He carried out the will of the Father. Further, His followers witnessed the miraculous as they experienced a taste of heaven. Jesus’ earthly ministry was a glimpse of what is to come. It is promised in His Word that there will be a new heaven and a new earth prepared for His bride. There will be no more grief, no more tears, no more death. Therefore, as we celebrate the birth of Christ, we also rejoice in what is to come. Once more, heaven will come down, and this time, it will stay.

With Love,

Tamara

Scripture To Meditate On

‘In the same region, shepherds were staying out in the fields and keeping watch at night over their flock. Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for look, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people: Today in the city of David a Savior was born for you, who is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be the sign for you: You will find a baby wrapped tightly in cloth and lying in a manger.” Suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying: Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to people he favors! , , ‘

Luke 2:8-14

‘For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me. ‘

John 6:38

‘Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. I also saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband. Then I heard a loud voice from the throne: , Look, God’s dwelling is with humanity, and he will live with them. They will be his peoples, , and God himself will be with them and will be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; grief, crying, and pain will be no more, because the previous things have passed away. Then the one seated on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new.” He also said, “Write, because these words are faithful and true.” ‘

Revelation 21:1-5
