2 Timothy 3 reveals that in the last days, people will be lovers of self, unholy, lovers of pleasure and not God and will HOLD ON TO A FORM OF GODLINESS. That includes creating a doctrine contrary to the Word of God. We have already witnessed this. It has been happening since the beginning of sin. We can only grow in faith if we grow in truth. While this list is not exhaustive, here are five truths every Christian should hold.
For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, proud, demeaning, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, without love for what is good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to the form of godliness but denying its power. Avoid these people.

God Is The Creator
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
God created it all. He created the heavens, the earth, the birds, and every animal of every kind, man, and woman. He created us all for His Glory. We, male and female, were made in His image with the purpose of reflecting His likeness. We are God’s CREATION. He is our CREATOR.
God Is Triune
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness covered the surface of the watery depths, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
God reveals His triune nature in Genesis 1:26 when he states, “Let us make man in our image…” We see that the Spirit of God is “hovering over the surface of the waters” as creation unfolds. But then, the New Testament mirrors the Old Testament with John opening with “In the beginning…” Again, God is revealing Himself. God SPOKE creation into existence. Jesus is the WORD made flesh. Therefore, God is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is ONE.
God Is Holy
Exalt the LORD our God; bow in worship at his holy mountain, for the LORD our God is holy.
God is HOLY. Which means He is SET APART. He is unlike anything that He has created. There is nothing or no one to compare Him to. He is SACRED and deserves to be REVRENCED, WORSHIPED, and PRAISED. He is GOD, the one true LIVING GOD.
Jesus Is Savior
Today in the city of David a Savior was born for you, who is the Messiah, the Lord.
Jesus DIED and RESURRECTED for humanity. He willingly GAVE UP His life because “God so loved the world.” He lived a PERFECT life that no other human could live. In The Old Testament, the Israelites were commanded by God to SACRIFICE an UMBLEMISHED animal such as a lamb to atone for their sins or to offer an offering. This law of sacrifice FORESHAWDOWED the coming of Jesus, THE LAMB OF GOD, a man who had no sin to PAY for the sins of the world.
Jesus Is LORD
If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Many Christians recognize Jesus as the savior but lack an understanding of Him as LORD. Jesus says “IF you love me…KEEP my commands.” The question is, “Are we surrendered?” Do we revere Him? Many other religions honor Jesus as a prophet, but we know Him as GOD. Our lives should be in total submission to His ways, His teachings, and His nature.
Study The Word
These five truths are the foundation of our Christian faith. Being a follower of Jesus is not about following a cultural tradition but FOLLOWING GOD. Study God’s Word. Meditate on His scriptures. Allow Him to purify your heart. Seek Him, know Him, and believe Him.
