What comes to your mind when you think about God? Do you think about rules and regulations or tradition and routine? Who is God to you? Is it just religion or are you also cultivating a relationship with God?

Scriptures To Meditate On
See! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
Revelation 3:20
”I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me.“
John 15:5
”Then I heard a loud voice from the throne: Look, God’s dwelling is with humanity, and he will live with them. They will be his peoples, and God himself will be with them and will be their God.“
Revelation 21:3
Like A Marriage
I’ve been married for almost eleven years now. Which by the way, still seems crazy to say! I’ve never liked to refer to marriage as work. It makes it sound like a burden. I will say that it does take intention. It takes an intentional effort to prioritize my husband and my relationship. It involves communication, support, and intimacy. These acts create an atmosphere of joy and a language of trust.
Do we approach our relationship with God in the same manner? Or do we only view Him as a spiritual being that sits above us and who we try to please and receive from? God wants so much more from us. He wants a relationship with us. When we study the faithful servants of God in the Bible, it is revealed that they walked with God. God knew them and they knew God, intimately. When God spoke, they responded because they knew His voice. I can pinpoint my husband’s voice in a crowded room because I have walked with him for so many years. I can trust him to lead me through a dark room because I know him. He knows how to guide me to safety because he knows me.
“My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow me.”
John 10:27

Live Like Jesus
Jesus demonstrated this perfectly for us. He spent time praying and worshiping God. He sat in His presence. What does your prayer life look like? Do you go into your secret place? Is God your source of life or only your source of blessings? Do you love God for who He is or only for what He can do? God desires to live among His people. He wants to walk with us. Will you walk with Him?
With Love,
Tamara
